wild things

I am a little bit in love with 'Where the Wild Things Are' (i know i'm a bit late). I'm currently reading the grown-up adaption of the book, called 'The Wild Things' by Dave Eggers. Its the best. Anyway, (via another blog) i just looked on the London Fashion Week website at the Topshop Unique shows and saw that their Autumn 10 collection is woodland inspired (which really reminds me of 'Where the Wild Things Are') and i LOVE it. Look at the cable knit thigh high socks and the faux fur...and horns...

... i'd like it all please.

giving...

I spent most of last night making this little cushion as a christmas present for my mum... hand sewing on all of the buttons and blanket stitching the edges took ages... plus i have two more to make for my sisters before christmas!

christmas is coming

here is a little christmas decoration i made for our christmas twig... we couldn't afford a tree this year which is rather sad, but the twig will look just as nice with all its handmade decorations (i hope).

i love paper chains...

do you like the paper chain i made for christmas? i used a lovely wrapping paper from oxfam, its brown parcel paper with red snowflakes, stars, reindeers and swirls printed onto it. i love christmas decorations that look old fashioned like this.

pearly heart...

i just thought i'd show you this little pearly button heart i made recently. the main heart is made from plain calico and its covered in lots of mother of pearl buttons and finished with a black ribbon to hang it up with. i make these hearts in different fabrics and with different embellishments all the time and they are lovely to give as presents, and can be hung on a door handle, drawer knob or even hung on the christmas tree.

im brand new...

so this is my very first post on my very first blog!
once i figure out how to use it properly, i will show you lots of things that i make and lots of things that i like.
